Where to pray at Paris airports (CDG & Orly) — 2026 guide

Flying should never force you to miss a prayer. Most major airports have a prayer room or multi-faith space — here is how to find them, plus our airport-by-airport guides.

Flying should never force you to skip a prayer. Most major airports now have a prayer room or a multi-faith quiet space — you just need to know where to find it. This guide explains how to pray peacefully at the airport, with links to our detailed airport-by-airport pages.

The essentials in 30 seconds

Most airports offer one of three options: a multi-faith space (often with a Muslim corner and wudu facilities), a dedicated Muslim prayer room, or — when nothing is provided — a quiet corner where you can pray discreetly. Simple reflex: look for the "place of worship / prayer" pictogram on terminal maps, or ask any staff member for the "multi-faith room".

Before or after security

Some spaces are landside (before security), others airside (after). If your flight is within the hour, choose a space after security, in your departure zone. Our airport pages always tell you which side each room is on.

Wudu: the real challenge

Finding water is often harder than finding a mat. Three solutions: recent spaces include a wudu corner; otherwise restrooms work with discretion; and carrying a small wudu kit makes everything easier. Tayammum (dry ablution) remains a recognised option when water is genuinely unavailable.

Praying on time while traveling

The traveler (musafir) may shorten 4-rakat prayers to 2, and combine dhuhr with asr, maghrib with isha. Check the qibla (our qibla tool helps); many spaces already indicate it.
